Beginner Prayag is a course designed with an aim to prepare students for a concert. This is a concert preparation course with the added element of collaboration that enhances one's experience through peer learning. The batch of three students receive training to perform 6 compositions- 3 compositions are performed together as a trio and one composition each are performed individually by each student in the batch. The repertoire would include Khayal along with allied compositions like the Tarana, Bhajan, Kajri.
PRAYAG is a confluence of individuals who are on the path of Sangeet Sadhana – practice of music. This is a space to bring out creative expressions through the performing art of Indian classical music in the best possible way. This is a platform that believes in constant evolution and growth. PRAYAG is sacred. PRAYAG nurtures art with positivity and effort to combine knowledge with practice.
12 weeks, one session of 45 minutes per week.
To learn six compositions; one composition may be a new composition created by this batch
To work on improvisation of these compositions
To plan the structure of the concert for the duration of 1 hr 15 minutes
To learn about each composition, prepare write-ups
To practice towards the performance
To rehearse the lines to be spoken about the compositions
Student should have completed HV107 and the student needs to be nominated by the teacher
The student is able to:
present five compositions along with explanation for about 10 minutes each
Understand how a concert is planned
Collaborate with peers, create a new composition or improvise the chosen composition
